Overview

The SUN Fire V490 was offered in two versions, the "2100" and "A52." The A52 version supported 2-4 UltraSPARC IV+ 1.8 GHz CPUs (2 per CPU Board) while the 2100 version supported up to (4) 2.1 GHz CPUs across (2) CPU Boards.

All V490s support up to 64GB of memory via (32) DIMM slots. All DIMM slots must be filled. (16) Banks of memory are available per CPU board, so both CPU boards must be installed to support the 64GB maximum. Memory Type: PC133 ECC (Registered.)

(2) Fibre Channel Disk Modules can be installed in the front hot-swap bays. The largest capacity drive recommended by SUN is 146GB 15K, however, depending on your version of Solaris, you can opt to install 300GB modules with the appropriate SUN firmware revision.
