Overview

The IBM x3650 (Feature 7979) server is a highly scalable 2U rack mount server. Please note your system Feature Code or Generation Number (designated with an M) as the x3650 model spanned 3 generations (M1, M2, and M3.) Most components in the M1 are not compatible with M2 and M3 components.

The eServer x3650 offers (2) CPU sockets capable of supporting Dual Core and Quad Core Xeon Processors running at 3.16 GHz. (12) DIMM slots allow for the insertion of PC2-5300 Registered (Buffered) modules and the expansion of system memory to 48GB.

All x3650 servers ship with an integrated ServeRAID controller capable of at least supporting RAID 0 or RAID 1 arrays. Systems ship with either (6) LFF (Large Form Factor) 3.5" Drive Bays for SAS or SATA drives or (8) SFF (Small Form Factor) 2.5" Drive Bay for SAS or SATA drives.
