CPU

Supports up to (4) Intel® Xeon 7100 Series CPUs with clock speeds up to 3.6Ghz.
Memory

The PowerEdge 6850 support up to 64GB of PC2-5300 DDR2 ECC DIMMs in (16) Slots. Installing 64GB of RAM requires utilizing all (4) CPUs and associated Riser Cards. A 64bit OS or OS with PAE support will be required to address memory over 4GB.
Internal Storage

The PowerEdge 6850 has either (5) LFF 3.5″ Disk Drive Bays or (8) 2.5″ SFF Bays. Models with LFF drives support either SAS or U320 SCSI drives, but not both. PowerEdge 6850 servers with SAS drives optionally ship with a PERC 5 RAID controller. SCSI models ship with a PERC 4 controller.
